FRANCOIS

MOUILLOT Francois Mouillot is an academic, musician and writer who works at the intersection of cultural studies and media studies. He is interested in popular and experimental cultural scenes - with a focus on music -, how they evolve through political, institutional, and technological change and what these scenes say about our collective and individual identities. He has particular interest in the music industries (especially 'grassroots', 'DIY', 'indie', 'underground' ones) in minority cultures such as Hong Kong, the province of Quebec in Canada, and the Basque region in France/Spain, among others. He is also keen about thinking improvisation (in music and beyond), 'liveness' (in music and beyond), and disability and access in the cities in which we live.
